Thermostat
By lowering your heater's thermostat
from 72 degrees to 68 degrees, you can decrease heating costs by up to 15
percent.
For even greater savings, add an extra blanket to your bed and
lower the thermostat a few more degrees when you go to bed. A programmable
thermostat can make this simple. Video directions on how
to use your programmable thermostat are available at the Department of
Energy’s ENERGY STAR Web site.
Lower your thermostat a few degrees before guests arrive or before you start
cooking. Before you know it your house will be warm and cozy, not
uncomfortably hot.
